Thanks!Blue makeup for blue prom dress?
blue make up can be hard to pull off unless u have the perfect shade

so i suggest u go for silvers, or a soft smokey eye

use browns to replace the colours as it will look natural and still look ncie with ur dress

heres how i do my smokey eye:

1. Use a light (skin toned) colour all over the eye- lashes to brow.

2. Use a black pencil eyeliner and line above the top lashes- doesn鈥檛 matter too much if it鈥榮 a bit messy.

3. Use a cotton bud with a dark eyeshadow on it and go over the eyeliner- making it smudgy.

4. Line under the bottom lashes with a pencil eyeliner and smudge using a clean cotton bud/smudging pen.

5. Use a middle toned eyeshadow (an in-between colour of the ones using) and go over the lid of your eye and just up to the brow bone or just above the crease- which ever you like better.

6. Blend or smudge the middle colour upwards into the lighter colour- just the top edge of the middle colour so you still have colour on your lid.

7. Use mascara- and don鈥檛 forget eyelash curler first- apply mascara to the bottom aswell-if you want.

if u decide on silvers, u just need to put silver from lases to brow and a little under the bottom lashes, then i u have a gold, apply that on ur eyelid and just above the crease and blend where the colours meet so there isnt such a hardlineBlue makeup for blue prom dress?
Are you doing blue on purpose for effect or are you trying to make yourself look the best? I would be VERY cautious when using blue - PARTICULARLY in the case of eye shadow as it can have the unintended effect of bringing you back to the 80's.

There are often suggestions and tutorials available on makeup websites so you might try looking at Covergirl, Maybelline, etc. online as they might be able to suggest colors that would compliment your natural complexion.

You can also try going to a more upscale department store like Nordstrom well before the date and have them make suggestions for colors that compliment your skin tone and show you what makeups you'll need and how to apply them. These places can be very expensive but you can buy one or two makeup items there and then go to a Rite Aid and supplement your makeup collection with cheaper items that are similar as you slowly accumulate more and more of the nicer stuff.
Well it kinda depends on other things, like your eye and hair colour

; but, considering that you don't seem very confidant with make-up and because you're wearing blue, I would keep it totally neutral.

If you haven't already got one, I would invest in a good foundation (maybelline matte mousse is awesome if you don't really know how to use make-up).

So anyway put this on evenly but not too thick.

Next for your eyes, I would stick to the good old black mascara, but because this is a special occasion, put a few coats of it on.

Also maybe some black or brown eyeliner, but you might want to experiment with this first.

For eyeshadow i would use a light brown or cream colour on the inside of your eyelids and a medium - darkish brown towards the outside and drag it just outside the eyelid.

For lips stick to a clear, light pink or any natural colour gloss.

I think that's it. I would practice a few times before to make sure you get it right.

I hope that helps. Have fun :) x
If you are wearing a blue dress, then that should go with silver shoes and silver accessories. Your makeup should not be completely blue, it won't give you a chic look. Try the smoky eyes mixing blue and silver eyeshadow and black eyeliner http://www.healthskincarebeauty.com/wp-c鈥?/a>

I did my own make up for my wedding, but I wanted ti still look amazing so I made an appointment with a channel make up artist the mall, it is free. She did an amazing job and they show you how to do everything as well as give you a paper with a face on it showing you exactly what they did and the name of the colors so you can do it yourself on your big day. The only bad thing about this is that they do try and sell you all the super expensive make up! I bought all the make up she recommended to me and then took it along to find less costly alternatives that were identical, then returned the Channel stuff. Also I would not recommend the blue eyeshadow with a blue dress, you want your eyes to stand out not blend in. And it can be hard to wear a blue eyeshadow without looking 80's or 12! If you don't want to do that I would look at sephora.com they have make up kits called eye tutorials that teach you how to achieve the look you are going for.
well you don't wanna clash your dress with your makeup.....

if you have a blue dress try a light blue and white eyeshadow

kinda put light blueish on and then around the blue add a little white

that would look cute but don't put to much on or you will look kinda sleaze.

then wear like natrual looking makeup for everything else

cause you dont wan't to look all freaky with all this blue on you.
i would suggest putting on a little bit of concealer even if u do not have acne. then u should use brown, black or blue eyeliner on the top and bottom eyelashes. i think blue would go the best though. then u should use a pretty gold or brown eyeshadow that gets darker as you go towards the outside corner of your eyelids. then i would use 2 coats of mascara. dont forget to add blush either. my favorite way of doing blush is brown on the bottom of your cheeks and then a rosy pink on the apples of your cheeks. then add a pretty pink or red lip gloss with chapstick underneath.
if you go to www.maccosmetics.com you can actually talk to a makeup artist online and they answer you back right away and will tell you exactly what to do. i've actually done this multiple times for makeup for prom and they are really really helpful.
Yes you CAN wear blue eyeshadow w/ ur blue dress as long as you pick the right shade of blue.Don't go out and buy baby blue that looks like it came from the 80s. I wear blue eyeshadow but it's a very dark shade of blue so my eyes look smokey when I wear it and get lots of compliments on it. I also wear purple eyeshadow when I wear a purple shirt, green when I wear green. Don't be afraid to practice and try different shades of blue and ask your friends and family. So I never followed this rule and recently it came out about celebrities matching there eyeshadow to there clothes and it was a do! So go for it, experiment and good luck!

blue is lovely (to contradict what the first answerer said), but you should never match your eye shadow with your outfit. Use a constrasting color like gray/silver, gold, browns, purples, pinks, etc...

you can try youtube on eye makeup instructions and how-tos.
Hi! Do not match your makeup with your clothing! It's tacky and has been out since the 90's! Get a natural eyeshadow and sweep it over your lid. Use some brown eyeliner on the top,add blush, and foundation on spots that need to be covered up. Add some peach lipgloss and mascara and you are set!
How about instead of doing a BLUE blue color, try a lighter ';icy'; blue. I think that would look very pretty! But since I can't see the dress... it might not. If light blue doesn't go well with it, stick with neutral whites, pinks, and light browns.

Good luck and have fun at prom!
Noooo don't do matchy matchy makeup with dress. Especially not blue. Stick with brown/grey/charcoal type colors for the eyes. Do them kind of dark and do a neutral lip gloss and peachy cheeks.
no...i wouldn't but what would look great is shimmery eyeshadow. I use Urban Decay: it looks really cute on any color of eyes and any shade of skin
try a different blue and also go to google and type hoe to do my makeup. just like that kay
oh please don't! Blue makeup makes people look old. (its true!)

Try grey and white or pinks!
blue makeup looks too 90s...you should go for black, grey/silver, or brown
